Q:

What
is the Expert System?
|
| |
A:
|
The
expert system is a computer-based troubleshooting program
that helps technicians resolve system failures on Citation
aircraft. Separate programs are available for the Model
650, Citation X, and Citation Excel aircraft. In addition
to troubleshooting recommendations, the expert systems
also provide helpful information on component location
and normal system operation. |

Q: |
How
much time must I plan to allow from receipt of order at
CPD to the airline for counter-to-counter AOG airline
shipment? |
| |
A: |
A
minimum of two hours should be planned. Though at times
we are successful with less time, there are many obstacles
to overcome, such as transportation time within Wichita,
airline security, etc. |

Q: |
What
is Cessna doing to improve airplane reliability? |
| |
A: |
Cessna
is implementing MSG-3 for building Maintenance Plans.
For the last 30 years, the airlines used this process
to design their Maintenance Plans with the Manufacturer.
Cessna is working with the NBAA and other Manufacturers
helping this process become the standard in the Corporate
Aircraft Industry. By having a standard method of analysis,
we can develop the most economical program while maintaining
the highest levels of safety. In addition, by using the
group approach for the development, with customers and
regulatory agencies involvement, everyone has a much better
understanding of the inspection program requirements.
With this process, reliability improvements are identified
before an airplane reaches the field. |
| |
|
|
| |
Q: |
Do
I have to follow manufacturer published Maintenance Plans
for my aircraft? |
| |
A: |
No,
you may build your own inspection program. No additional
approval is required as long as you comply with all inspections
contained within the published intervals in the Maintenance
Manual. If you decide to use increased intervals or include
any other changes, you must obtain an FAA approved A.A.I.P.
We recommend that you subscribe to CESCOM 2001 in order
to create your unique sign off sheets. This is especially
beneficial if you are planning to take the aircraft to
a Citation Service Center for maintenance. |

Q: |
What
are CESCOM and CESCOM 2001? |
| |
A: |
CESCOM
is the maintenance tracking system for all Cessna turbine
powered aircraft. CESCOM is initiated on the production
line where part numbers and serial numbers are recorded
as the airplane is progressing through the manufacturing
process. When all the data has been collected, a report
is produced showing the status of the airplane components
and inspection requirements. This is given to the customer
as an initial status of the airplane. This report is
updated with the flight information and maintenance
actions as reported back to Cessna. The information
is used to produce new status reports and produce projected
maintenance activity and maintenance history reports
sent to the customer on a monthly basis. CESCOM is provided
with the purchase of a new aircraft for one year and
is then available on a subscription basis. 90% of all
Citations currently subscribe to CESCOM.
CESCOM
2001 is an upgrade to CESCOM. A software package is
installed on the customer's computer that allows the
CESCOM data to be controlled at the customer's site.
The customer makes updates directly to CESCOM data and
the information is transferred to Cessna electronically.
This allows the customer more control of the information
and immediate update capabilities with many more report
options. CESCOM 2001 is available with the purchase
of a Citation X and is an option for all other Citations.

Q: |
What
is CSINFO? |
| |
A: |
CSINFO
is an acronym for the Customer Service Information database.
The database is a central collection point for all service
related information on the Citation aircraft. Each significant
contact with Citation customers in addition to CESCOM
and service center work order information is entered into
CSINFO. This makes CSINFO a valuable tool for monitoring
and tracking the Citation fleet. |

Q: |
Why
does it take so long to obtain upholstery items? |
| |
A: |
With
over 3,000 Citations manufactured, the variety of fabrics
and colors is nearly infinite. With mature Citations,
we must try to match what is in the aircraft as closely
as we can with current selections, then order. To improve
this service we are developing a sample book of currently
available products that should speed the process. |
